Put your heart on a platter and see who´ll bite

The cover of the book „Tempest Under Control“ is taken from an old classic LP-Cover of Dvoraks „From the new world“

The song of „Hiawatha“ which is written down by Longfellow and put together in his own mystic background, was one of the American Influences for the bohemian composer.

One of his students told him all about the realities in the U.S.A at the edge into the 20th century.

A couple of years later Duke Ellinghton and George Gershwin came there to study.

In 1946/47 Ellinghton released his “Indian Melodies“ and Gershwin became famous with with Summertime and Soon.

Just two steps, Woody Guthrie & Buddy Holly as main influences for a teenager out of the midwest, who later will appear in Greenwich Village, playing clubs with old folk tunes and soon rise to the shooting star named Bob Dylan.

In 1965 Ellingthon covers „Blowin in the Wind“ and in 1987 Dylan played on a Gershwin Gala the Song „Soon“ in a heartfelt and respectful version.

This is only one circle, which closes slightly, beside many.

So this is the conception for „DarmstadtDylanDays 2021“ and the organisators hope for save audiences in save rooms.

We keep you updated !!!
